MEET THE TEAM AT SYNERGY MEDICAL
Charles Sayre, DC, NP-C
Dr. Sayre is the President and CEO of Synergy Medical. He earned his first bachelor’s degree from Regents College in Albany, New York and his doctorate degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. After practicing chiropractic for 12 years, he decided to go back to school in order to gain prescription privileges and serve patient’s needs more thoroughly. He attended Isothermal Community College and earned his associate’s degree in nursing and worked in the emergency department of the local hospital while earning his bachelor’s degree in nursing. Dr. Sayre continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning his master’s degree as a nurse practitioner. Upon graduation he decided to go into pain management with his background in musculoskeletal medicine, practicing chiropractic since 1999.
Dr. Sayre is a native of western North Carolina and always dreamed of beach life. When the opportunity presented itself to move to Wilmington, he jumped at the chance. Being a huge proponent of health and fitness, opening Synergy Medical was the perfect opportunity to bring medical weight loss and other anti-aging services to the Wilmington area. Dr. Sayre has a passion for helping people to attain a healthy, pain free life. He enjoys the beach, fishing, sporting events, and grilling on the weekends.
Dr Becky
Dr. Charles Sayre was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Villanova University. He obtained his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. His residency was at Thomas Jefferson and its affiliated Wills Eye Hospital, and he completed his training with fellowships at the University of Connecticut in cataract and corneal surgery.
Becky Daw
Becky is not only a staff member but also a patient. She has lost over 60 pounds using our proven methods for weight loss. She is committed to our patients' success and understands the journey. Becky now has the energy and confidence to spend time on the beach with her family and friends. She enjoys participating in local charity runs and Spartan races. Becky has an AS degree from Victor Valley College, she is a Certified Medical Assistant with NHA, Phlebotomist, and Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Specialist with NESTA.

Kirsten Van Ness
Kirsten comes to us from MN, where she discovered her love of medicine at a young age. She attended Normandale College and is a Certified Medical Assistant, Weight Management Specialist, Medical Transcription Editor and Barre Fitness Instructor.
Her vast range of experience and love of learning has spanned several medical specialties, ranging from Dermatology, Infertility, Internal Medicine, and Podiatry.
But it is her passion for nutrition and fitness and her natural aptitude to help people that led her to Medical Weight Loss in 2017, where she feels she has found the perfect home for her talents.
In her spare time, Kirsten enjoys exploring the neighboring coastal towns and spending time at the local beaches with her teenage daughter. She is an avid fitness enthusiast as well and enjoys her time pursing her own health journey.
